a5c7b9f00b Tim Bisley and Daisy Steiner rent a flat pretending to be a couple. There, they meet Marsha, the alcoholic landlady; Brian, the disturbed and troubled painter downstairs; Mike, Tim's war-crazy best friend; Twist, a fashion designer and Daisy's best friend; and Colin the dog. What follows is the group's crazy and comical adventures. The adventures of Tim and Daisy who rent a room in Marsha Klein's house under the pretense that they are a couple. Also in the house is frustrated painter Brian. Together with TA fanatic Mike and Daisy's girlfriend Twist the duo get into a series of situations with hilarious results. I remembered seeing a couple of episodes of this series then it first came out and I was quite impressed.

On the strength of the reviews on this web-site I recently bought the DVD's of both of the series 1 & 2.

I've no hesitation is saying that this could well be the best sitcom ever produced. I do not say that lightly.

Both series of Spaced are on a par with (but different to) Big Train - first series, and the Alan Partridge series where he's staying in the Travel lodge.

It absolutely knocks the socks off anything that we've ever imported from the States. It makes 'Friends' look like cheap plastic, and the characters in the likes of 'Will & Grace' look like cardboard cut-outs.

My 2 sons (21 & 16 yrs) also find it side-splittingly funny.

We've all watched each series twice in the last fortnight - and will surely be watching it again soon.

I really love the attention to detail that gives insights into the personalities of the characters.

I won't waste ink on a list of superlatives - there's only one word that does justice to it. Sublime! Do yourself a favour - order it now! Spaced is a witty portrayal or modern life amongst friends the comedic timing is always spot on with references often ranging to the popular to the obscure in a tremendous geeky fashion.

The characters, while being exaggerated, are believable because we all have people in our lives similar to the characters. it's the exaggeration in these characters themselves than proves so funny.

the quick cuts between the real and the surreal highlight the thoughts that can be reflected in our own minds because these sudden flights of fancy the character's own day dreams, akin to ourselves.

It is not the surreality of spaced that makes it such a rich comedy, rather than it's reality taken in a light-hearted way.
